Multi-Agent Runtime for Orchestrata.

The agents package is the Multi-Agent Runtime of Orchestrata: the code that turns intents into governed work done by specialist agents, called volks. It has two halves. The runtime half manages agent processes under rules; the brain half, in the volks subpackage, gives each agent an LLM-backed role in the delivery pipeline. The hand-written story is agents.

Runtime parts, by role:

Vocabulary: types, interfaces, constants, exceptions.
Governance: prolog_bridge (the facade over the multiagent.pl rules), constraints, lifecycle, hierarchy, communication, escalation.
Execution: runtime, pool, task_executor, coordinator and the registry volk_registry.
Entry points: intent_adapter, postman_adapter, cxp_adapter, and the out-of-process server runtime_main with its handler kernel_handler.
Agent support: tool_registry (function-calling tools), prompt_builder, spec_writer and uml_generator (standalone generators), and the parallel code generator in swarm.

A task enters through an intent, a Postman packet or a CXP gRPC packet; TaskExecutor resolves a target volk (asking Prolog when none is named), acquires a pooled instance and runs the volk's process method, and VolkCoordinator composes such runs into election, consensus, fan-out and pipeline patterns. Start reading at types, then task_executor, then volks/base.
