- Hooks live in claude/hooks/, not the session package: They are hooks (SessionStart/SessionEnd); matches repo convention where session_*_hook.py already live; the literal session package is a library of importable modules at 2026-06-22 20:43

- Inject structured context.json state, not raw transcripts: context.json is the designed cross-restart mechanism (fast/clean); raw-transcript recovery is only needed when a session ends without a handoff at 2026-06-22 20:43
- install.sh deploys from the self-contained claude/tools/session bundle: old packages/orchestrata-session source no longer exists; the bundle is already stripped of monorepo deps, so deploy is reproducible without post-copy rewriting at 2026-06-22 20:43
- SessionEnd reminder triggers only on OPEN sessions (length is null): no stored end-timestamp to distinguish 'just ended' from 'ended long ago'; keying on open avoids nagging about old closed-without-handoff sessions at 2026-06-22 20:43

- Shipped SessionStart hook (claude/hooks/session_resume_context.py): auto-injects prior-session status into a fresh session; when the last session has no handoff, prepends a warning + raw-transcript pointer
- Shipped SessionEnd hook (claude/hooks/session_handoff_reminder.py): reminds to write a handoff when leaving an OPEN, un-handed-off session; silent on properly-closed or non-tracked dirs
- Resolved deployed-vs-repo drift: backported the session_cli.py import-identity fix (session.* -> orchestrata.*) into claude/tools/session_cli.py

- Verified both hooks fire in real fresh claude sessions: SessionStart injection (model named session 000 + missing-handoff flag) and SessionEnd reminder (captured via sentinel on exit)
