Sessions 160-179
Session history extracted from context.history.md (sessions 160-179, all entries in file order; the file records each session in two formats — a "Purpose" entry and a "Focus" entry — both are preserved where they add information; template placeholder lines like {to be filled} are omitted).
Session 160 — 2026-06-18 20:21 — Claude Opus 4.5
Purpose: Fix parallel test flakiness + code review cleanup
Length: 0h 0m
Work Log:
- Committed: fix: parallel flakiness remediation + code review cleanup (978/978) at 2026-06-18 20:22
Session 161 — 2026-06-18 23:35 — Claude Opus 4.5
Purpose: Parallel flakiness remediation + batched test executor + unified runner
Length: 0h 0m
Work Log:
- Fixed parallel flakiness: worker-scoped
_cleanup_test_prefixin conftest, LeaderElection key namespacing in cluster.py + tests - Fixed generated test Neo4jAuditTrail init signature (added redis_config param)
- Deleted duplicate architect prompts.py (architect_prompts.py is canonical); updated test_prompts.py
- Rewrote test_executor.py for batched subprocesses: 978 modules into 4 batches (~244 each), one pytest subprocess per batch. Eliminated ~5.7 min subprocess-startup overhead. Suite: ~7 min (was ~24 min)
- Created unified test runner scripts/run_tests.py: infra check + safety gates + batched executor. Created scripts/gate_parallel_safety.py: 5 static analysis gates for deterministic flakiness detection
- Updated docs/development-and-testing.md with batching architecture. Updated memory files: AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, CONTEXT.md, context.json — all point to scripts/run_tests.py as primary runner
Artifacts (modified): AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, CONTEXT.md, context.history.md, context.json, context.md, docs/development-and-testing.md, scripts/run_tests.py, scripts/run_tests_streaming.py, scripts/run_tests_threadpool.py, src/orchestrata_ultimate/core/threading/test_executor.py, tests/core/threading/test_test_executor.py, tests/core/threading/test_test_executor_helpers.py; deleted: tests/generated_core/test_core_threading_test_executor_generated.py
Session 162 — 2026-06-20 15:22 — Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context)
Purpose: AST type-resolved refactors + typehint enforcement; VizInt e2e demo; tooling install & repo hygiene
Length: 0h 0m
Work Log:
- Made the AST toolkit's refactors type-resolved (no name-matching): call-graph, method rename (type-scoped + fail-closed), inline; interface-aware dead-params; untyped command + ratchet gate; VizInt end-to-end demo; tracked uv.lock; installed session CLI; fixed GitLab auth via glab; pushed master (96 commits)
Achievements:
- Type-resolved call-graph: static resolver (imports, param/return annotations, pydantic/dataclass field types, self, constructors, MRO) replaces name-matching; same-named methods never conflated
- Type-scoped + fail-closed method rename: renames the inheritance family, rewrites call sites only by receiver type, refuses --apply on any unresolved receiver
- Type-resolved inline call-site rewrite; interface-aware dead-params (Protocol/ABC methods spared — an interface is not a stub)
- untyped command + --max ratchet (generated _pb2 excluded, 202->186); wired into pre-commit, CI, and pre-push
- VizInt UI end-to-end demo vs live gateway/Redis/Neo4j: 5 gadgets mounted, orchestrator.intent created a real task, screenshots captured
- Tracked uv.lock; installed session CLI to ~/.claude/tools; fixed GitLab auth (glab; expired GITLAB_TOKEN shadows valid token); blessed suite 1028 passed/0 failed; pushed master (96 commits)
Upcoming:
- Drive untyped 186->0 via the ratchet
- Reconcile session-number drift (commits reference 163-165, not in the tracker)
Handoff:
- Decisions: Refactoring resolves by TYPE, never name-match; fail-closed on unresolved receivers; uv.lock is tracked (reproducible installs); GitLab auth via glab; .env/shell GITLAB_TOKEN is expired
- Active Work: Drive untyped 186->0 via the ratchet (annotate top offenders)
- Key Files: scripts/serialize_codebase_ast.py, scripts/ast_report.py, vizint-ui/scripts/demo-e2e.mjs, ~/.claude/tools/session_cli.py
- Commands:
env -u GITLAB_TOKEN git -c credential.helper='!glab auth git-credential' push origin master, python scripts/run_tests.py,python scripts/serialize_codebase_ast.py untyped --max 186 - Alerts: GITLAB_TOKEN in .env/shell is EXPIRED — unset it or refresh via glab; pre-push hook times out on large backlogs; use blessed scripts/run_tests.py to verify
Session 163 — 2026-06-20 15:51 — Claude Opus 4.6
Purpose: Multi-track agent-swarm session: (1) untyped ratchet 186->0, (2) pipeline automation Phase 1-8, (3) VizInt Sprint 4, (4) S157 cleanup + session-number drift
Length: 1h 7m
Achievements:
- Untyped type-hint ratchet driven 186 -> 0 (type-resolved across 69 modules); locked --max 0 in pre-commit/CI/pre-push
- Pipeline plan Phases 2-5: ArtifactStore + PipelineCheckpoint + first-class compliance-FAILED + UI event forwarder; +30 real tests
- Pipeline E2E test (Phase 6: deterministic per-MR + nightly real-LLM variants)
- VizInt Sprint 4 residuals finished: perf-budget path fix, npm compliance/security/perf scripts, TodoistGadget registered (dev profile)
- S157: Incus/doc Neo4j password default aligned to knowledge123
- Fixed 2 pre-existing gate failures (conftest black, F841); full suite 1033/1033 green; standards/check-deps/black/ruff all green
- 14-agent audit+implementation swarm (disjoint file ownership), verified with two full suite runs
Upcoming:
- Resolve stale session/examples/session_start_hook.py (removed SessionController API, no test refs, spec-006 @traces) — port or delete
- Optional: unconditional set_pubsub wiring in gateway/rpc.py so pipeline-event forwarding fires without Neo4j
- Refine the 4 'object'-annotated params (session_start_hook, ToolInterceptor) if their APIs clarify
- Reconcile session-number drift: git labels reach 165 while tracker advanced to 163 this run; next close should jump past 165
Session 164 — 2026-06-22 20:43 — Claude Opus 4.8
Purpose: Session-continuity hooks (SessionStart resume-context + SessionEnd handoff-reminder); backport session_cli import fix; repair install.sh; commit + push
Length: 0h 0m
Objectives:
- Make read-history/resume automatic on session start
- Remind to write a handoff on exit
- Version-control the hooks with the session tooling
- Fix deploy drift so re-deploy is reproducible
Achievements:
- Shipped SessionStart hook (claude/hooks/session_resume_context.py): auto-injects prior-session status into a fresh session; when the last session has no handoff, prepends a warning + raw-transcript pointer
- Shipped SessionEnd hook (claude/hooks/session_handoff_reminder.py): reminds to write a handoff when leaving an OPEN, un-handed-off session; silent on properly-closed or non-tracked dirs
- Resolved deployed-vs-repo drift: backported the session_cli.py import-identity fix (session.* -> orchestrata.*) into claude/tools/session_cli.py
- Repaired claude/install.sh: deploy from the self-contained claude/tools/session bundle (old packages/... source gone) + create orchestrata->session symlink + drop obsolete strip steps; removed legacy session_auto_start/close/open copy+registration so a re-deploy manages only the 2 continuity hooks
- Verified install.sh end-to-end in an isolated HOME; committed as 79751c3e (author Mohamed, no AI attribution); pushed to origin/master with pre-push pytest gate green (3 modules)
- Verified both hooks fire in real fresh claude sessions: SessionStart injection (model named session 000 + missing-handoff flag) and SessionEnd reminder (captured via sentinel on exit)
Upcoming:
- Decide fate of orphaned legacy session hook scripts in claude/hooks/ (P2)
- Optionally extend SessionStart warning to closed-without-handoff sessions (P3)
- Reconcile session-number drift from S163 (P2)
Technical Choices:
- Hooks live in claude/hooks/, not the session package: they are hooks (SessionStart/SessionEnd); matches repo convention where session_*_hook.py already live; the literal session package is a library of importable modules
- SessionStart runs read-only 'status', never 'resume': 'resume' mutates state by reopening a session; must not run automatically on every start
- Inject structured context.json state, not raw transcripts: context.json is the designed cross-restart mechanism (fast/clean); raw-transcript recovery is only needed when a session ends without a handoff
- install.sh deploys from the self-contained claude/tools/session bundle: old packages/orchestrata-session source no longer exists; the bundle is already stripped of monorepo deps, so deploy is reproducible without post-copy rewriting
- SessionEnd reminder triggers only on OPEN sessions (length is null): no stored end-timestamp to distinguish 'just ended' from 'ended long ago'; keying on open avoids nagging about old closed-without-handoff sessions
Artifacts:
- claude/hooks/session_resume_context.py (95 lines) — SessionStart hook: inject prior-session status; warn + transcript pointer when last session lacks a handoff
- claude/hooks/session_handoff_reminder.py (72 lines) — SessionEnd hook: remind to write a handoff when leaving an open session
- claude/tools/session_cli.py — import-identity fix backported (session.* -> orchestrata.*)
- claude/install.sh — deploy from self-contained bundle + orchestrata symlink; legacy session hooks removed
Handoff:
- Decisions: Hooks in claude/hooks/ (convention); SessionStart uses status not resume; inject context.json state not transcripts; install.sh deploys from self-contained bundle + orchestrata symlink; SessionEnd nags only open sessions
- Active Work: none — 79751c3e committed and pushed to origin/master
- Key Files: claude/hooks/session_resume_context.py, claude/hooks/session_handoff_reminder.py, claude/tools/session_cli.py, claude/install.sh
- Commands:
bash claude/install.sh# re-deploy hooks/session module to ~/.claude - Alerts: ~/.claude is NOT version-controlled; claude/ in this repo is the canonical source — edit there and re-run install.sh
Session 165 — 2026-06-22 21:16 — Claude Opus 4.8
Purpose: Build intent-capture layer: unified intent registry + UserPromptSubmit router + KG-export jsonl sync + jsonl-backed remember + goal capture on SNS; wire into settings.json + install.sh; verify
Length: 0h 15m
Objectives:
- Unify SNS/end/remember into one router driven by an intent registry
- Build transcript->kg_nodes.jsonl sync
- remember reads jsonl (no live Neo4j)
- Capture real goal on session start
- Re-wire what I de-scoped + add to install.sh
Achievements:
- Built deterministic intent-capture layer: registry (intents.toml) + one UserPromptSubmit router (intent_router.py), superseding the old session_open/close/remember hooks (commit 51836921)
- SNS goal capture: 'sns
' / 'start new session ' begins a session with the trailing text as purpose; guards against orphaning an already-open session - remember reads a KG-export jsonl, no live Neo4j: kg_sync_jsonl.py syncs transcripts->kg_nodes.jsonl (2826 nodes / 0.5s for orchestrata); deterministic AND-keyword query injects matched nodes as forced facts
- Wired router into settings.json (UserPromptSubmit) + install.sh; verified install.sh deploys exactly the 3 intended hooks (no legacy)
- Verified end-to-end in REAL fresh claude sessions via sentinel: remember injected jsonl facts; sns routed + open-session guard fired (no orphaning). Gates green: ruff, ruff-format, mypy --strict
Upcoming:
- Remove superseded standalone hooks (P2)
- Cleaner remember topic boundary (P3)
- Incremental kg sync (P3)
- set-purpose command for bare-sns goal capture (P3)
Technical Choices:
- One UserPromptSubmit router driven by intents.toml, replacing 3 standalone hooks: unified and config-driven; adding an intent is a registry edit, not a new hook file
- remember reads kg_nodes.jsonl, not live Neo4j: deterministic and dependency-free at query time; fixes the old remember_hook (live Neo4j + wrong 'user_message' field that never fired)
- Goal captured as the trailing text after the sns alias: hooks can't prompt interactively; 'sns
' is a clean deterministic capture into the session purpose - KG sync sources from Claude Code transcripts: they are the canonical jsonl the KG derives from; always present, no Neo4j needed
Artifacts:
- claude/hooks/intent_router.py (202 lines) — UserPromptSubmit intent router: match registry -> dispatch sns/ens/remember
- claude/hooks/intents.toml — intent registry: command aliases + trigger patterns
- claude/tools/kg_sync_jsonl.py (133 lines) — transcripts->kg_nodes.jsonl sync + deterministic keyword query
- claude/install.sh — deploy + register the intent router (UserPromptSubmit)
Handoff:
- Decisions: One router (intents.toml) replaces session_open/close/remember; remember reads kg_nodes.jsonl not Neo4j; goal = trailing text after sns; sync from transcripts
- Active Work: none — feature committed 51836921, deployed to ~/.claude, verified in real sessions
- Key Files: claude/hooks/intent_router.py, claude/hooks/intents.toml, claude/tools/kg_sync_jsonl.py, claude/install.sh
- Commands:
bash claude/install.sh# deploy intent hooks + session module to ~/.claude - Alerts: intent_router supersedes the standalone session_open/close/remember hooks — do not re-register the old ones
Session 166 — 2026-06-22 21:47 — Claude Opus 4.8
Purpose: Restore the real session hooks (session_open/close/remember): drop my intent_router, re-wire + deploy the old hooks, fold jsonl into remember, deploy the goal subsystem
Length: 0h 38m
Objectives:
- Drop the intent_router regression
- Re-wire session_open (sns) + session_close (cts/cs)
- remember -> jsonl (keep the one good idea)
- Port the goal subsystem (get_goal/criteria) into the deployed package
Achievements:
- docs: document the session continuity + intent system
- session_cli: select work items by index or fragment, not full text
- Restore the real session hooks; drop the intent_router regression
Handoff:
- Decisions: intent_router reverted (greedy + wrong 'ens' alias) — the spec-traced session hooks ARE the implementation; remember stays jsonl (no live Neo4j); goal subsystem back-ported into the flat deployed package, not the mixin source
- Active Work: Restoration complete + pushed; 5 follow-ups remain in the backlog (top: expose goal-setting to the user — no set-goal CLI/command yet)
- Key Files: claude/SESSION_SYSTEM.md, claude/hooks/session_open_hook.py, claude/hooks/session_close_hook.py, claude/hooks/remember_hook.py, claude/tools/session/{models,session,context}.py, claude/tools/session_cli.py, claude/install.sh
- Commands:
python3 ~/.claude/tools/session_cli.py --project <P> status, claude -p 'sns',cp claude/tools/session/*.py ~/.claude/tools/session/# redeploy bundle - Alerts: Edit the bundle under claude/tools/session/ then REDEPLOY to ~/.claude/tools/session/ (keep the orchestrata->session symlink) — bundle and deployed must stay identical; don't reintroduce intent_router / greedy command matching; claude/ files are NOT mypy-gated by the custom pre-commit (only src/* is code-reviewed)

Achievements:
- docs/pipeline.md — complete README for pipeline module (10 work types, 10 capabilities, 21 artifact types, Python API, CLI reference, retry policy, Mermaid diagrams, test matrix)
Handoff:
- Decisions: Created docs/pipeline.md as the canonical README for the pipeline module (pipeline_runner.py + pipeline_router.py + artifact_store.py + session/cli/pipeline.py); located in docs/ (not inside the orchestrator module) to match the existing docs/ convention
- Active Work: None — README is complete
