Provider adapters for LLM backends.
The adapters package holds the wire-level backends of the providers package. Every adapter implements the same provider protocol (complete, get_models, supports_capability), so the router and manager treat them alike. base provides BaseAdapter, the shared HTTP client handling, which the five HTTP adapters extend: anthropic_adapter (which also translates OpenAI-style tool definitions to Anthropic's format), openai_adapter, deepseek_adapter, ollama_adapter for local models and openrouter_adapter. claude_cli_adapter is the exception: it runs the Claude Code CLI as a subprocess. init is an empty marker.
Adapters are created and registered by the LLM client (client), not by the providers package itself, and handed to ProviderManager.register_provider. A request flows from the manager to complete and returns a raw provider response. Start reading at base, then any one HTTP adapter. The parent package is the providers page.
