Purpose
KG schema SPEC-008 remediation (plans/kg-schema-gaps.md)
Work log
- Wave A1 done: Volk MERGE key converged on alias in harness/history.py:228 + reporting.py:387 (23/23 tests green, ruff/pyright/check-deps clean)
- kernel/audit/writers.py:284 deliberately NOT changed: volk_id is a distinct instance-id concept (log_volk_lifecycle carries volk_alias separately in data JSON); AuditLogger.log_* has ZERO production callers — converging it = the K3 volk-identity unification (pending item 12), a design decision, not wiring. Evidence recorded for that item.
- Wave committed: f64ab262 (KG SPEC-008 wave, 17 files) + streaming-runner deadlock fix. Gates: black/ruff/pyright clean, code-review 1 pre-existing HARDCODED_URI fixed in-wave, test-review 1 pre-existing T10 warning, all touched test files green solo.
- B1 committed: 8e233058 (Session canonicalisation, 9 files, 124 tests green sequential) + tooling commit (runner timeout bytes fix + _janus_patched pyright exclusion). Pyright program started: inventory 2321 errors (src 263 / tests 2024 / scripts 34), classifier built, Wave-0 correctness-triage builder launched (24 unawaited-coroutine generated tests, missing imports, possiblyUnbound, 6 src override mismatches).
- Pyright program: src 263→0, scripts 34→0, tests 2024→~1620 (345 codemod fixes committed). 11 commits on kg-schema-remediation. Real bugs found by the program: thread_pool None-race, swarm TaskGroup isolation, ethical fail-closed, analyst _call_llm LSP shadow, priority clear() contract, snapshot git_commit always empty, session Prolog facts never cleaned, codedirector.junior phantom import, dead code-review tree-sitter path. Full suite running; push on green.
- SKELETON_FLOW structural escape: task.py
- STRUCTURAL: 2 escape(s) A.init: method deleted A.m: method deleted
- Full-suite triage resolved: all 3 real-failure candidates closed
- test_kg_sync.py + test_kg_sync_extended.py seeded Session.session_id with the bare seq while sync_session_files/log_action MATCH the qualified project:session:seq key — 4 seeds fixed via _session_key (082ac2d9, both files green solo)
- test_session_neo4j_store_coverage.py 12/12 solo — replica-outage cascade, no code bug
- observe_pytest attach latest crashed on SIGKILL-orphaned running entries; pid-liveness filter + regression test (abdaf6b0)
- Full suite blocked ONLY on dead Neo4j replicas .13/.14; port-watcher armed to relaunch on recovery
- SKELETON_FLOW structural escape: task.py
- STRUCTURAL: 2 escape(s) A.init: method deleted A.m: method deleted
- SKELETON_FLOW structural escape: task.py
- STRUCTURAL: 2 escape(s) A.init: method deleted A.m: method deleted
- Run-4 fallout: canonical apply() now drops orphan plain indexes; last B1-missed assertion fixed
- Worker DBs .13/.14/.19 each had an orphan auto-named plain index (index_9037fd38) on Session.session_id blocking the canonical uniqueness constraint (IndexAlreadyExists — IF NOT EXISTS does not soften it); apply() now reconciles by dropping non-constraint-owned indexes on the constraint's (label, prop) before creating, + regression test
- test_kg_sync_real_neo4j.py:334 asserted bare seq for session_id; now expects syncer._session_key(1)
- User added the 3 permissions.allow rules (sweeper CLI + incus neo4j-node-* systemctl start/status)

- STRUCTURAL: 2 escape(s) A.init: method deleted A.m: method deleted
- Deep-verification fix batch committed (af5079e8): all audit/review findings remediated
- HIGH: gateway session handler bare session_id -> qualified D4 key at all 3 KG touchpoints + logged excepts + shape-asserting regression test
- projects.py canonical slug MATCHes + honest task_create (project_linked)
- MADE_BY vocabulary + archive_session MERGE; history.py coalesce(v.name); ethical.py fail-open comment corrected (posture=user decision, backlogged)
- auth_handler try_connect_* bounded 10s; tests use DNS-free 127.0.0.1:1 (getaddrinfo executor-thread teardown hang diagnosed)
- 22 T3 + T10 + 3 T12 test-hygiene fixes; 5 files black-formatted; test-review 0 issues; pyright 0; 28 affected modules green solo; run 7 in flight

Decisions
- KG gap #4: RECONCILE enums (not delete) + drift-lock test: Only 4 import sites, @traces stamped on enums; backport schema.py vocabulary into NodeType/RelationshipType and pin bijection with a test
- KG gap #8: Volk MERGE key converges on alias: volk_alias UNIQUE constraint exists; kernel/audit/writers.py (volk_id) + harness history/reporting (name) must merge on alias, keep other ids as properties
- KG gap #2: Component=top-level-package derivation; OWNS from artifact provenance; WORKED_ON at pipeline layer; ASSIGNED_TO from Task.assigned_to; MADE_BY alongside MADE; REQUIRES/SUPERSEDES/DERIVED_FROM stay vocabulary-only: Deterministic derivations only; ownership-by-authorship is the only honest signal available; no fabricated writers
- KG gap #7: Session canonical key = session_id string, project-qualified for work sessions; constraint+migration AFTER wave A (file overlap kernel/audit/writers.py): 3 divergent keys (session_id/id/seq) incl. int seq collisions across projects; multi-project invariant requires qualification
Achievements
- kg-schema-remediation PUSHED to origin (a3ddf7cc, 21 commits): full suite GREEN 26,761 passed / 0 failed / 0 errors / 0 skipped / 1329-1329 modules / EXIT=0 / kernel gRPC-verified; full verification battery green (pyright 0/0, all gates, 3 deep-review agents, DB conformance x4, Memgraph routing x3)
Upcoming
- Backlog decisions: ethical fail-open->fail-closed posture (SPEC-014 ERR-011); postman ENV_DEFAULT fixes; component_work_context production wiring; REQ-106-008 writer-migration wave (legacy Project.id/Architecture.name/Rule.name constraints regrow until then); optional kg-keys AST audit gate
Handoff
- Key decisions: Suite gate = run 8 (authoritative, kernel-verified); enabled_reads_on_main=true persisted on Memgraph cluster (user-applied); worker DBs canonically migrated (user-applied)
- Blockers: Backlog user decisions: ethical fail-open->fail-closed posture (SPEC-014 ERR-011); postman ENV_DEFAULT fixes post-push; component_work_context wiring; REQ-106-008 writer migration (Project.id/Architecture.name/Rule.name constraints regrow from legacy writers)
- In-progress: Branch pushed; next: MR when user wants (gitlab.com/MSamy/orchestrata-ultimate-architecture, source=kg-schema-remediation)
