Deterministic code review checks for verification; no LLM is needed. engine orchestrates all checks. The checks are grouped by concern: checks_correctness (imports, file completeness, entry points, dependencies), checks_quality (type hints, mutable defaults, docstrings, line length), checks_safety (security, TODO comments, mocks, lint) and checks_structure (function length, arguments, placeholders, error handling). issue_triage sorts and caps issues by severity, and helpers and types support them. The codedirector volk uses the same kind of checks, see codedirector.
