Purpose
Phase 9: VizInt integration (SPEC-016) — wire pipeline pubsub to UI, browser gadgets, Playwright E2E
Work log
- Fixed gateway pipeline→UI wiring: intents never dispatched/delivered in-process
- Bug 1: gateway lazy gRPC connect() 'succeeds' against a dead CXP_GRPC_PORT so the PipelineKernelClient fallback never engaged; added a bounded health_check probe at startup to fall back correctly.
- Bug 2: PipelineKernelClient emitted events via PubSubManager.publish() which is a no-op registry counter (never sends to a websocket); injected the gateway's real broadcast() coroutine so events push straight to subscribed UI connections without Redis.
- Proven via WS probe: orchestrator.intent now returns dispatched=true + thread_id, and pipeline.start reaches the client.
- Wired pipeline→VizInt UI end-to-end + rewrote pipeline-e2e (23 tests green on Firefox)
- Bridge now fans every server-push onto the shared bus as ws.message (setBus) so CXPFeed/Orchestrator/DebugPanel gadgets receive pipeline/cxp events — the dead ws.message bus is now live.
- Exposed window.commandcenter (bridge/bus/gadgets/notifications/stateSync) + token-from-localStorage in app.js. Rewrote pipeline-e2e.spec.js to SPEC-016 topology (static portal + vizint.gateway.url override) using the real bridge API; proves orchestrator.intent dispatch + pipeline.start delivery over pubsub.
- Fixed CXPFeed status/payload rendering (2 vitest + 1 e2e) + gateway/rpc lint
- Gadget read packet.status but the gateway sends delivery_status; normalized on ingestion, emit data-status on the dot, render payload (not just body) in detail, and made the whole row clickable to expand.
- server.py: bounded gRPC health-check probe for correct in-process fallback; AsyncGraphDatabase possibly-unbound + decoded dict typing + unused loop var; rpc.py TUI fallback lambdas.
- Cleared the 6-item session-tooling backlog
- 4: deleted orphaned session_auto_start.py + doc fixes. 2: auto-close now emits session-NNN git tag (root-cause of tracker-vs-tags drift) + doc. 1: SessionStart warning now distinguishes ended/auto-closed-without-handoff from open.
- 5: added set-goal/get-goal/meet-criterion/achieve-goal/abandon-goal CLI + /goal command (SPEC-023 goal now user-facing); verified end-to-end. 6: ported generate_traced_rtm_simple/generate_rtm/generate_detailed_rtm (packages->src) + generate_code_index.py + plans/code-index.json; full pipeline runs (15120 traces, 97.7% verified). 3: kg_sync_jsonl incremental append via per-file byte watermark + full-rebuild fallback on shrink; verified.

Decisions
- In-process pipeline fallback wired to orchestrator handler ONLY (set_pipeline_client), not the cxp/chat handler: The in-process PipelineKernelClient cannot round-trip a conversational Concierge reply on cxp.traffic; feeding it to chat broke 4 concierge tests. Orchestrator gets pipeline events; chat keeps its canned Concierge reply.
