The ast subpackage of contracts holds the host-side AST toolkit seam named in ADR-0108 (N-V4). It carries the contract only and no engine: ast_toolkit_protocol defines the protocol that other components code against, and the package __init__ is a one-line docstring. Components that need AST data depend on this protocol from orchestrata_contracts rather than on the toolkit itself, in line with the contracts-only role described on the component DAG page.
