RTM Traceability Swarm Plan — Session 268

Goal

Make reports/rtm-evidence.md reflect the actual test coverage by adding explicit @traces decorators to test functions that already verify requirements but do not currently cite them.

Scope

Wave 1 covers the highest-impact test packages:

Agent Instructions

For each assigned test package:

  1. Read the relevant spec checklist(s) to learn requirement IDs and descriptions.
  2. List all test_*.py files in the assigned test directory.
  3. For each test function:
    • Read its name, docstring, and the source functions/classes it imports/exercises.
    • If the test clearly verifies one or more requirements, add an @traces decorator.
    • Use the form:
      from orchestrata_ultimate.core.base.traces import traces

    ...
    • If the test verifies multiple requirements across specs, list them all in reqs.
  4. Add the traces import only to files where it is needed.
  5. Prefer docstring mentions for ambiguous cases; only use @traces when confident.
  6. Do NOT add guesses. If a test's purpose is unclear, skip it and record it.
  7. Do NOT use mocks, stubs, fakes, or monkeypatch (RUL-002).
  8. Do NOT change test logic or assertions.
  9. Run the assigned package tests via python scripts/run_tests_threadpool.py tests/<package>/.
  10. Fix any ruff/black/mypy issues introduced.
  11. Report: files changed, decorators added, tests run, failures, skipped ambiguous tests.

Verification

After each wave:

  1. Regenerate static RTM: python scripts/generate_rtm_evidence.py --md reports/rtm-evidence.md --json reports/rtm-evidence.json
  2. Run with --verify for the changed packages: python scripts/generate_rtm_evidence.py --verify
  3. Run architecture checker: python scripts/architecture_checker.py
  4. Run ruff: uv run ruff check src/ tests/
