W3.1 Absorption Map (2026-07-06) — see the W3.1-map agent report (session 201)
Summary of load-bearing facts (full detail in session transcript):
- kernel PipelineRunner = PipelineSessionMixin + PipelineKGMixin + PipelineEscalationMixin; checkpoint/artifacts/events composed (pipeline.py:99-107).
- Checkpoint (pipeline_checkpoint.py REQ-001-951..961): REAL — Redis hash +
16KB disk spill, RLock, save via _checkpoint_stage on every escalation hop; kernel resume() (pipeline.py:299) reconstructs from _RESUME_ORDER (:471).
- Orchestrator runner: NO mixins, NO checkpoint calls (docstring :280 promises it — backlog #38 dead promise confirmed), NO escalation, NO KG. Own enum-typed artifact_store.py (zero @traces) — duplicate to reconcile.
- session/cli/pipeline.py:34-53 already constructs kernel PipelineCheckpoint (reads see nothing); :190-200 comments document the resume gap verbatim; pipeline_resume re-RUNS instead of resuming.
- Mixin tests all use fake ConcreteHost — port unchanged on reuse.
- Live paths re-verified: kernel engine = kernel_handler/runtime_main, pipeline_cli REPL, e2e_run.py; orchestrator engine = gateway/server.py:387-401 in-process fallback, session CLI, TUI (cheetahclaws:369).
- No layer violation, no cycles (all layer 4; kernel pipeline modules import nothing from orchestrator).
- Boot-shim retained surface: boot/submit_intent/respond/get_status + _register_volks/_register_plugin_volks (SPEC-015) for pipeline_cli + e2e_run.
- Not audited: pipeline_kernel.py event-forwarding vs kernel PipelineEventBus overlap (follow-up); benchmark_pipeline.py target.
RULING: see D1-addendum in plans/decisions-2026-07-06.md (checkpoint+KG move now, artifacts traces-union, escalation deferred as designed pass).
