Status: Accepted · Date: 2026-08-29
Context
Mohamed's directive, verbatim: "the trace has to be part of the plan and we have to have automatic verification." Separately: ratification must be "a simple approval from the harness, nothing manual."
Decision
(1) The trace is part of the plan: at spec-sync the design becomes SPEC-115 with the REQ-115 decomposition map fixed in advance (0xx storage/trust · 1xx lifecycle · 2xx execution · 3xx integrations · 4xx failure rows · 5xx concurrency contracts · 6xx ratification interface); the mapping table lives in the spec. (2) Totality both directions: every REQ ↔ implementing symbols + tests via @traces; orphans block landing. (3) Verification is automatic, bound by name: check-traces/trace-audit, trace_intel orphans/untraced-reqs, the evidence-graded RTM, check_feature_loss, check_spec_authority, check_req_format, factory conformance (B2/B3). (4) Ratification is ONE harness-mediated approval in Mohamed's session — the queue presents, he says approve/reject, the harness signs with the ratify key in his context; zero manual cryptography; no standing auto-approve; reject is a durable ratify-signed no; no fallback signer.
Alternatives rejected
Companion trace files outside the spec (drift); advisory-only trace gates (erosion); manual signing ceremony (rejected by the directive itself).
Consequences
Design §11 F13 (v15.2/v15.3, commits d82db132/defdc806) carries the full 90-line contract; untraced SPEC-115 code cannot land.
Provenance
Mohamed, decision session 2026-08-29; design §11 F13 quotes the directive.
